Al-Hoor Al-’Ayn, Guarded In Pavilions, Away From The Eyes Of Other Men

Al-Hoor Al-’Ayn are described as being guarded in pavilions, away from the eyes of men.

Allaah says:

Hoor (beautiful, fair females) guarded in pavilions.” [55:72]

According to Mujaahid, what this means is that the Al-Hoor Al-’Ayn will not go out of their pavilions. He goes on to say that they will not be like the women of this world who roam about the streets and market places. They (Al-Hor Al-’Ayn) will honorably stay with their husbands. (1)

Though they are primarily restrained in the pavilions, they will, however, accompany their husbands to the gardens and parks for amusement.(2)

A Quick Note To Sisters:

Some sisters complain that their husbands daydream about Al-Hoor Al-’Ayn, yet fail to question and/or investigate why. Allaah has mentioned many qualities of Al-Hoor Al-’Ayn which just blow a mans mind away.

For example, they restrain their glances, they passionately love their husbands, they care for them, and as mentioned by Mujaahid (above), they don’t go out, honorably staying at home, without any fuss. Restraining their eyesightes from seeing other men, as well as keeping far away from being seen by other men.

Not knowing any other man, not even seeing other men! Loving their husbands, and loving their husbands only. Living with them in peace, love and compassion, fulfilling his needs, showing no disappointment at his wishes. Allaahu Akbar!
